Next Show:The Tax Deductible Zombie Ball 31st Oct 2008'
One night only on the 31st of October, Venue TBA

13th Sept 2008
Well the summer is officially over! Thanks to all of you who came and supported us at our many shenanigans, shows and general ruckuses (or should that be rucki?) Absinthe was drunk, songs were sung and Captain Beef Flaps entertained the masses. Anyhoo, our website is currently undergoing a massive redevelopment and will be all spit polished and full of photos VERY shortly!

13th May 2008
Yup that's right, we have a brand new show and an upcoming preview in less than a fortnight! Click here to get all the details and here to order your tickets for what promises to be a night of mayhem, music, absinthe and curiosity... Crawford Simplkancks Participatory Freak-Fest and Absinthe Emporium.

Having successfully undergone our first harrowing bank holiday weekend in (what we are coming to think of lovingly as) Boristown, we thought we’d dispense another small droplet of joy into your otherwise desolate life. Behold!

The Finger Puppet autopsies Episode 7 – The Cavendish Knight

Our penultimate episode is resplendent with Lies, Sex Offender Olympians, Hollywood Legends, High Shakespearian Culture, Triffids, Musical Genitalia and just a small soupcon of Dougie Walker! What a veritable treat... A massive thank you to all those hundreds upon hundreds who have downloaded the series thus far both here and through iTunes. You can expect the final episode (already complete and good to go) at the end of the month. Oooh the tension...

Here is a little photograph of something we’ve been working on feverishly for a while now.

Doesn’t it look special and intriguing? Aren’t you wondering why we would go the effort of putting such an item together? Perhaps you are considering how to acquire such a resplendent artefact? Perhaps you’re simply wondering why Sigmund always looks so concerned?...

Alas, we cannot say anything more at the moment save that we have been very busy little people of late and this is just the start of our plans for greater things... speaking of which:

BONG! This is the news... well these are the sections where we have posted the news at least. We have SOOO much going on just now, we thought we'd break it down for ya.

   -   New Show!        Our first brand new Project is: Crawford Simplkanck's Participatory Freak-Fest and Absinthe Emporium. Click here to find out more.

   -   New Show!        Our next new show is called: The Incomplete Story of Don Glauben. Click here to find out more.

   -   New Show!        Our final show for 2008: Snelson & Ironside: I've heard these guys are good. Click here to find out more.

Keep checking the site for upcoming info on a radio / podcast adaptation of Carbon Fever... a little project that we’ve been gestating called Bucka! And rumours about some strange and unfathomable idea that goes by the pseudo name: The Finger Puppet Autopsies; Series 2... although who knows what that last one could be about. We should also have some news about Stem and The Complete Works of Religion before the end of the summer months (damn them and their ferocious pollen count!).

In the more immediate future we'll have all the details on our bid to take over Brighton, new photo galleries, updates to the website, new company members, info on Secret Garden Party, details on all our forthcoming shows and, of course, the last episode of The Finger Puppet Autopsies!!! I’m so excited I’ve just undergone full vaginal prolapse...

(in case you were wondering the news section was getting a bit long so I've archived the old news which can now be found through the links down at the bottom of the page, should you ever wish to look there...)

Welcome to Easter... That special time of year when a magical Jew (possibly a Buddhist?) who may or may-not have existed, might have been nailed (or perhaps tied) to a cross (could have been a tree though) and may or may-not have died... probably... although some accounts say he didn't... depending on translation.

To mark this special time of year have another Finger Puppet!

The Finger Puppet autopsies Episode 6 – The Thalidomide Teat

Packed full of sticky goodness and dedicated to my favourite (retiring) fellow man of the cloth. Expect more Bono & Bob, a nice bit of cake, a whole cudgel of freaks and Rev. Ian Paisley's magnificent pension plan. Expect more news as soon as we fabricate it. I’m off to defend Mel Gibson from hollow earth dwelling lizard-men.

Special Spermatozoon,
Rev. Lew

Wow! New Episode excitement goes here…*dances the Macarena like a stoat possessed*

The Finger Puppet autopsies Episode 5 – Sir Scampford's Riddle

Episode 5 is here and chock full of old favourites and brand new, spangley funniness.

So you all may be asking exactly what Tax Deductible will be getting up to this year… This is where we have to be a bit sketchy for the time being alas… all we can say is this:
We’re currently talking to the organisers of The Secret Garden Party about taking our unique brand of travelling freak show to Huntingdon this summer. Nothing is set in Carbonite yet but we’re hoping to make a brief appearance at this year’s Brighton Fringe Festival too if things go according to our dastardly plan.

We’re also beginning to get started on an all new top secret script. Muchos apologies to all those who we’re looking forward to Stem for such a very long time now but rest assured it has just been postponed and will surface at some time in the future all happy and smiley.

We can’t say much more than this for the time being as things are all still at an early stage but as soon as we can reveal all the exciting details we’ll do just that! Ohh isn’t it all so thrilling.

Enjoy Episode 5 and If you download it through iTunes then please, please write us a wee review (or a poo review, if you prefer) on there so that others can realise just how fucking brilliant we are.

Mini update special!

Episode 4 of the Finger Puppet Autopsies is now online for your acoustic pleasure.

No really, it is… honest… click the link and see for yourself then:

The Finger Puppet autopsies Episode 4 – The Monger's Lament

See! Told ya.

Enjoy and as always let us know what you think… unless you don’t like it in which case we hope you die in a horribly painful fashion… quite likely involving a poisonous scorpion, a spiky club and a diseased sheep.

Love and quantum mechanically entwined photons.

Happy new year to all of our adoring and devoted fans… and a big, festive “up yours” to all our peripatetic and fair-weather followers!

It’s been a scandalously long time since the auld website saw so much as a pungent whiff of an update so here to placate your gnashing maws is:

The Finger Puppet autopsies Episode 3 – The Debtor’s Malaise

Download, listen, laugh. It’s a fairly simple set of instructions and ones which we hope you can all follow. We have been beavering away furiously to get the entire series complete and you can expect the next episode “The Monger’s Lament” to be penetrating your eager lug-holes in the next week or so. Ooooh the productivity Tis’ frankly astounding! We’ve already written our way through to Episode 7 and all the material for 4, 5 & 6 is already recorded…

We hope this answers where we have been and what we’ve been up to over the last 3 odd months. We’re realistically looking to have the entire first series complete and online by the end of May… that’s an entire episode a month folks! How good are we to you? Just to give you some idea of how big this project is for us we recon we’ve done about three times the writing for The Autopsies so far than we did for the whole of The Absinthe Monologues… speaking of which:

Oh yeah! We are now officially sell-outs… (sniffs back tears of pride) We’ll be posting our usual carefully edited selection of reviews up in the Absinthe section of the website in the next few days but for the time being here are a choice few from Chortle, Curio Festival and our delicious sponsors La Fée Absinthe. The show was universally well received by everyone who didn’t walk out half way through and we’d like to put out a big thank you to Zoo venues, The King’s Head theatre and La Fée Absinthe once again. Massive props to our peeps in da’ hood (or some such street parlance) must also go to:

I Kissed a Frog And it Gave me Herpes (4 stars from the Scotsman) by the delectable Anna and Rob.
Adam, Janet and Eugenia (Officially the three best actresses in Edinburgh this year) and the whole Truckstop gang.
Horizon Arts and the Wakefield bunch (5 stars from the Scotsman!) for My Filthy Hunt.
& the delightful Steve and Luke A.K.K.K.A. Toulson and Harvey (Perrier award nominees, great haircuts and all round dirty little heathens) Congrats for showing us up with your god-like-genius guys.

You are all now consigned to the foul pit of our links page.

Finally we must give our salient respect to our cohorts in comedic crime this fringe, the ever charming Shut Yo’ Face company and the well meaning Slippery Soapbox (Second place overall (you know it's true) in the almighty “Slippery Absinthe” showdown nights). T’was an undiluted pleasure working with you guys and we’re up for a re-match anytime you are.

That’s yer’ lot for the time being folks, but you can expect regular updates to be a bit more regular for the near future.

Love and juvenile botulism,
Rev. Lew & Cpt. Chris
