Fuck me with a fuck stick and call me Marjory the fringe is close and looming like a big wet loomy thing.

Thanks to all of you who turned out at the Kings Head for the previews, much appreciated, Lewis and Chris will be visiting each and every one of you with a thank you "surprise" and probably a 5 and a 1/2 year old in a thong (sorry for the ‘in jokes’ but if you’d seen the show you’d be one of the special ones too). Thanks even more to those of you who took the time to write us a review on time out. After the gorgeous peoples at the King's Head saw the show, it has been decided that a matinee slot is perhaps not where a show of our...calibre, should placed. THEREFORE! The Absinthe Monologues has an extended run which not only includes matinees but two extra evening performances. See our funky new T.D Calendar for details:

Also we have, through practices arcane and channels unholy, made our way onto the front page of the edfringe.com website... Good egg! Apparently Tax Deductible even got a name check on the BBC breakfast news. Truly we now walk upon the shoulders of giants (or at least Moira Stewart). Many further tanks to London Lite who found time during their busy schedule of de-forestation and street littering to coronate us as “Pick of the day” for two Mondays running… who’d have thunk it, eh? We even proved our “street” credentials by appearing on the BBC Asian network’s Nikki Bedi show (told ya’ that Chris’ ethnic credentials would pay dividends!)… Anyway we were so popular (Lewis even got Nikki to admit she uses Tenna lady) that they’ve invited us back on air for the last week of August… by which point they may have seen the show… oh dear.

Finally, welcome to TDTC’s newest member, the predictably unique Abby O’Leary... may the godz have mercy on yer’ soul.

Firstly, apologies to anyone who tried to visit the site over the weekend. We had a severe server severage and an attack of the hosting hob-goblins but all is now resolved! Our eternal thanks and used prophylactics go to the gorgeous geeks at Instra for all their help and patience... now onto business: Any one with even a modicum of sense will have noticed that the third episode of The Finger Puppet Autopsies is not yet with us – fear not – it is not far away but we have all been running around like blue-arsed squids working on The Absinthe Monologues! We’re oh so happy to say that we survived the scratch performance and we’d like to thank everyone (ahem) who attended. Muchos kudos to everyone at the 491 Gallery for their ongoing support and fantastic venue, we recommend y’all go check out that shiznit.

For those of you who are in far-flung places or just couldn’t get your act together quick enough for Saturday you can always come along and see us at The King’s Head Theatre in July. The show and the FREE ABSINTHE will be previewed there on Monday 9th and Monday 16th July at 8pm. That’s right, for a measly £6 not only will you get to see a be-thonged Cad, some world class perverts and a special preview of the 2008 edition of the English Dictionary, you will also be able to sample the delights of La Fée Absinthe at no extra cost! Book now by calling the King’s Head box office on 0207 226 1916 to avoid disappointment and an itching burning sensation in your fingers.

For those of you Edinburgh bound this August, tickets are now on sale! (In the words of William Pitt the Elder “Can I get a ‘Woot, Woot’?”) For more details go to the oh so spangley Fringe online bookings type place via the following linkage where all dates, times and prices are handily displayed for ease of brain processing. Or you can always give the hotline a call on 0131 226 0000 and if two ways weren’t enough you can always check out that crotch shot and book direct with our venue, check their website for further details ZooFestival.co.uk. The run is from 3rd – 27th August (except the 21st) so get cracking or you’ll miss out dearies!

And since you’re here why not grab some new wallpaper – an attractive new design is now residing in the downloads section along with the slightly updated animated gallery for Absinthe and a delightful new gallery of rehearsal shots.

Finally a big congratulations to our La Fée competition winner Scott! Well done young sir. We look forward to meeting you and who knows… you may even be able to charm the pants off of the Cad in person.

Until next time – Live long and… become a drain on the state – it’s the best way of getting your own back…

Updates, updates everywhere! Well at the risk of sounding like a broken stereo-grama-phone, we’ve had a busy couple of weeks here at Tax Deductible HQ.
Rather than ramble aimlessly on for the next paragraph about our coming and goings I shall endeavour to neatly bullet point our recent misadventures thereby saving me a headache and you a page and a half of grammatical mince…

   -   The Absinthe Monologues has a venue for Edinburgh
Many thanks to our very sexy friends at The Zoo. We will be spending our second successive Fringe festival in their delightful company. We will be performing from the 3rd till the 27th of August at 7:45pm in the Zoo Southside Cabaret bar venue.

   -   The Absinthe Monologues has a Sponsor
Just as many thanks go out to our spanking new sponsor La Fée Absinthe. As part of La Fée’s sponsorship package they will be providing us with enough of their gorgeous Absinthe to give every single audience member a free glass when they come to see the show in Edinburgh! How cool is that?

   -   Full steam ahead…sorta’
In addition to all the paraphernalia of booking accommodation, registering ourselves with the fringe office and putting together our programme entry we’ve found the time to book some rehearsal space! Our continuing search for “alternative" rehearsal spaces has led us to Gallery 491 in Leytonstone. For those of you who attended our RampART premier last year; you’ll know how much fun these shows can be. We’re pencilled in to perform our first scratch nights on the 1st and 2nd of June. More details as time approaches (encroaches?)…

   -   More previews!
No sooner have we left the mothering womb of Gallery 491 than we jump headlong into the waiting bosom of the King’s Head Theatre in Angel. We’ll be doing our first two official previews there on the evenings of the 9th and 16th of July. Do come won’t you. What’s more we shall be returning to the KH straight after Edinburgh for a weeks run starting the 4th of September as part of their Momentum project. More juicy info to follow.

   -   Where, oh where, is Stem?
More than a couple of you have been asking as to the whereabouts of our much vaunted Stemcell Research: the Musical! Rest assured it hasn’t gone the way of the giant moa. With all the clamour over Absinthe, Chris and I have decided to postpone Stem till the back half of the year and look to take it for at least a weeks run in a good quality fringe venue. More news as and when we have it… promise.

   -   Website expansion, trailers and wallpapers.
I did warn you this was a big update. The shows section has had its long over-due over-haul and now features details a-plenty regarding Absinthe. There’s also a shiny, new fun-kay trailer / animated gallery available to download AND the first Absinthe Monologues wallpaper is now online so you can concern your boss and work colleagues till yer’ hearts content. As if that wasn’t enough, the links section has been updated (if we've unduly neglected to link you please drop me a line and I shall rectify this post haste) and the press and sponsorship page now contains all the juicy info that befits an organisation of our stature and scope... ahem.

   -   Almost done...
We’d be mightily grateful of ya’ll if you could mosey on over to Channel 4’s 4Laughs site and have a little download of our mini Finger Puppet Autopsy. We’re trying to get the attention of 4Radio type people and we’d really appreciate the helping hand if you could increase our clips popularity and such. Oh! And the MySpace has had a bit of a face lift too.

Phew! Well there’s why the website hasn’t had an update in about a month, busy, busy, busy…
Finally Chris and I are working on a little side project as well. (just because we weren’t overloaded enough =) It’s a little too early to confirm anything solid just yet but suffice to say it involves 2 of our favourite characters, the worlds most emotionally expensive game of buck-a and the wonders of Auguste & Louis Lumière… hmm, cryptic.

Lugs and hove
Lewis (on my own till Chris gets back from France...)

Hello again. The new Episode of The Finger Puppet Autopsies in now online for your downloadable delight. Please indulge, enjoy and spread the news of our self professed comic genius as far as humanly possible.
Also a quick apology to all of you who subscribed to the original RSS feed on the March 7th update... Please feel free to remove the old one and re-subscribe for the full version with news and show updates included this time... Those responsible for this cock up have been duly flogged. The working link is above and will be staying there.
Expect a couple of small updates before the end of the week and a brand new Finger Puppet as soon as we can.

7th March 2007
Yes folks, the excitement has been almost palpable for weeks now but finally we're putting the finishing touches on episode two of the Finger Puppet Autopsies...
A huge thanks to all of you who've been busy downloading the first episode and nearly braking our poor little website with the sheer volume of traffic. If you're sick of checking this website every few days for new Finger Puppet related news then why not subscribe to our brand spanking new RSS RSS feed!
Apologies for the slight delay in getting the next episode on air but we've relocated our state of the art "recording facility" to an intricate system of subterraneous, labyrinthine caverns deep within the bowels of our secluded mountainside chateau. Here we can distil a purer strain of comedy than at standard depth and air pressure.
As if the prospect of a brand new episode wasn't enough to slake your savage thirst we have two sparkly new galleries for perusal as well. All the stunning photography in the new galleries was taken at Studio 52 in Shaftsbury Avenue. We've been using them for a couple of years now and they've put together a deal on headshots that'll make you quiver with delight. It's a seriously amazing offer and it's only available through this website! Click here for details

Expect details of forthcoming shows, new podcasts and further sneak peaks at The Absinthe Monologues and Stemcell Research the Musical! before the end of the week.
Rev. Lewis & Cpt. Chris

21st January 2007
An excessively happy new year to every one of you that we haven't already said it to. Well, things have been hideously busy since the last update, where to start?
Firstly; we've kept you waiting for a while now but here it is!! Drum roll please! The Finger Puppet Autopsies - Episode 1 - The Vandals Purse
This is the first of what we hope to be a series of four monthly podcasts. All will be free to download both here AND on iTunes, ain't we beautiful people?
I was finally released from Hospital with a completed script for The Absinthe Monologues safely in tow. This show promises to be a real departure for us as It'll include radio action, live action, animation, singing, dancing and a very special magic trick all in the same show... Look forward to this one!
Stemcell Research the musical! is coming along a pace and will have a complete first draft before the end of the month
You may also notice a few wee changes on the website.
There's a brand new Gallery of Carbon Fever show photos kindly donated by Mr Fricker and family.
The trailer and production gallery videos have had a slight overhaul and should now play nicely with most browsers.
Finally, it had come to our attention that our little Theatre family had somewhat outgrown the old members section so we've created a brand new Tax Deductible Family Tree so you can find out exactly who and in some cases what we are.
This has been (to put it mildly) a busy month for us with lots going on behind the scenes. Be sure to check back in a week or two and we should have plenty more creamy lovings for all and sundry
Chris & Lewis
